They did not mean to destroy it but to distort it for this "modern audience." But doing so ruined the soul of the whole IP, at least for me, and many others. Plus, the majority of the new "fans" are people who actually detest Star Wars in its original form. They're just there to support this woke shift or the presence of female leads, not true fans, just culture war participants. They don't buy the toys, watch the shows, play the games, etc.

In the end, the IP is ruined, even though the original idea was to make more money by pandering to the woke shift.

I feel bad that you guys can't see the bigger picture & still think it's about making money. There's a spiritual - supernatural side to it. You have to take 10 or 20 steps back & look at the whole picture. They supposedly have the best writers in the world at their disposal yet 5 of us could put together better scripts in a week than what Kathleen Kennedy has done with all the garbage they've made. All beloved franchises are being ruined & many classic movies are being terribly remade & you think that's all coincidence? You can name call because you don't get it & that's fine but when was the last time they made something as great as the original Star Wars trilogy? My personal opinion is they're ruining things now so they can unleash AI made movies on us in a few years that everyone will love again which is unfortunate.
